POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES’ COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS’ PREFERENCE AND LOYALTY TOWARDS CHOOSING A BANK INSTITUTION: RURAL BANKS VS. COMMERCIAL BANKSPDF

Nartea, M., Guillermo, H., Dacatimbang, R., Lopez, J.

The study is about identifying the preference and loyalty of college students in Polytechnic University in the Philippines under the College of Business Administration in banking institutions such as rural and commercial banks. Preference is a “big thing” at this point of our lives since we are now on the reality. You got to decide about different things which you are responsible with – whether it may result to positive or negative, consequences should be faced and accepted. Choosing between things is always based on your preference. As a college student, especially when you are renting an apartment or a place to stay near your school, the hardest thing to do is allocating your allowance, thinking and deciding where your allowance should be spent. The methods used in the study is by randomly choosing and distributing questionnaires in the College of Business Administration department of Polytechnic University of the Philippines, using the Cochran formula in getting the sample size. Based on the questionnaires and date data gathered the results showed that most of the respondents prefers or show their loyalty to commercial banking garnering 119% of respondent’s answers. In conclusion commercial banks in the Philippines have higher population compared to rural banks, the respondents said that commercial banks has the ability to put up advertising campaigns and is usually seen by the public mass more often, so people show their loyalty to commercial banks as shown by the results. They also said that they are satisfied with the services and feature commercial banks have.

The energy in Afghanistan as of the year 2019PDF

Wais Alemi

Afghanistan is a land-locked country with mountainous terrain that helps the country sustain the various climates they have. This in-turn provides for accumulation of sufficient water resources to enable the country not only to provide for its own energy needs but also be a supplier to the neighboring countries. Of the many goals, the primer for the Energy sector is provisions of sufficient electricity through affordable and sustainable supplies. Sector plans envisages a comprehensive program of sequenced priority investment in power supply chain. Development experience from around the world confirms reliable power to be an essential ingredient to the economic growth and public welfare of any nation. As per the estimations, it is believed that the investments on Energy will support Afghanistan’s growth at a rate of about 10% and per the government’s broader goal of reducing poverty by 3% per annum and doing so in a cost-effective manner. The current master plan under work envisions Afghanistan both as a major producer of clean energy and as a transit hub where a ring of transmission line around the major parts of the country will assist in transmission of this energy to other than those in Afghanistan. It is worth mentioning that Afghanistan has immense potential in all categories of non-conventional energy sources and as such can support the off grid locations with ample supply of renewable energy. Mining sector as is on the boom in the country also has some potential for provisions of energy productivity, with this said, the Haji Gak Mine if explored has plans to include almost 50% of the coal-generated energy to the national grid. Although not an amount that can alleviate the energy problems, it sure can provide to immediate energy needs of the locals living around those areas. Direct thermal Energy generation has also been studied and the proposal put forward a number of estimates for the energy that can be generated off the Sheberghan Gas fields. Among them one proposes thermally generate energy from the gas field for the whole lifetime of availability. Finally, the imported energy which will be bulk of the energy consumption for the years to come will be a substitute for the country’s need, this will be the case until the infrastructure is ample enough to provide for the needs of the country and then the final plan for these imported energies to be transmitted to neighboring countries. One such plan under work is the CASA 1000 project which will extend transmission lines till parts of Jalalabad and transiting the energy to Pakistan on a pay per use basis.

Analysis Of Factors That Influence The Use Of Social Media By Small And Medium EnterprisesPDF

Muhammad Ardiansyah, Peni Sawitri

This study aims to find out the factors that influence social media usage among small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Us-ing quantitative approach, this study examined the influence of four factors from Diffusion Of Innovation (DOI) theory toward so-cial media usage within SMEs. Data collection for this study was conducted by online questionnaire from SMEs in Jakarta, Jawa Barat and Banten, Indonesia. Statistical analysis with multiple linear regression was used to test the hypotheses. The study found that interactivity and compatibility have positive and significant influence toward social media usage within SMEs.

Flood protection system using GSM technology (In Case of Kindo Didaye at Wolaita, Southern Ethiopia)PDF

Teshome Watro Wata (Lecturer of communication Engineering, Wolaita sodo University), Degu Menna (Lecturer of control and Automation Engineering, Wolaita sodo University)

Abstract Floods are among the most common disasters and natural hazards in the world, in the developing contries like Ethiopia particularily wolaita area affecting human lives and causing severe economic damage in last three years, for this case “Flood protection system using GSM technology in the case of wolaita zone Kindo Didaye woreda,” has become a popular study topic. It is understood that flood risks will not decrease in the future. To minimize the extent of damages caused by flood, warning systems to inform the people of the disaster should be implemented in the areas. The system should be designed to be able to detect the levels of water so appropriate warnings to the authorities and the public can be sent. The flood notification SMS and social network especially at the critical situation. The specific SMS is sent from the GSM modem to the station through a regular GSM network. The Micro controller will continuously check the status of the sensors. The control system will include two separate units: the GSM modem, and the control unit. Main components are PIC microcontroller, sensor, display unit and motor. The sensor senses the presence of water and gives indication to the microcontroller. The microcontroller produces the control signals to drive the motor and display the condition on LCD in the system. Finally the simulation result using protous software and Micro-C pro or PIC with GSM modem for the designed system to the early warning of the flood in the area.
